Accession to the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement

Serbia deposited its instrument of accession to the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on July 21, 2026. The Geneva Act will enter into force for Serbia on October 21, 2026.

Serbia is already a party to the Lisbon Agreement for appellations of origin. Accession to the Geneva Act extends its participation in the Lisbon System to geographical indications as well.

Once the Geneva Act enters into force, Serbian appellations of origin and geographical indications protected domestically may also be registered internationally through WIPO, facilitating protection in multiple member jurisdictions.
