Temporary extension for submission of legalised documents

The Ministry of Economy has issued Administrative Decision No. (2) of 2026, which came into force on 25 March 2026. It introduces a temporary measure that allows additional time to submit legalized documents for trademark applications.

Under the current rules, applicants must submit the legalised Power of Attorney (POA) within 90 days from the filing date. According to the new decision, when applicants are unable to meet this deadline, monthly extensions of 30 days each may be granted, provided that the request is submitted before the expiry of the granted period. No additional official fees will apply to these extensions.

This measure aims to provide greater flexibility for applicants facing delays in the legalisation of documents, particularly in cross-border matters.
