AI tool to speed up trademark classification


The USPTO has launched Class ACT, a new AI tool designed to automate one of the most time-consuming stages of trademark application processing. The system can quickly assign international classes, design search codes, and pseudo marks to unclassified applications, helping make them searchable much earlier in the process.

According to the USPTO, tasks that previously took months can now be completed in minutes or even seconds, although human review remains in place. The agency said additional AI-powered trademark tools are expected to follow soon.
