Implementation of Nice 13th edition for trademark applications


Qatar’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has announced the official adoption of the 13th edition of the Nice Classification for trade mark registration, effective 16 February 2026. Under a circular issued by the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Department, all applications filed from that date must comply with the updated classification. The Ministry has urged applicants and agents to review the new edition carefully and align future filings with the revised terminology to avoid delays or procedural objections.
