13th edition of Nice Classification adopted


The UAE Trademark Office has officially adopted the 13th Edition of the Nice Classification, with implementation effective as of January 27, 2026. Accordingly, all new trademark filings in the UAE must comply with the provisions of the new edition.

The 13th Edition replaces the previously applied 10th Edition and introduces a number of substantial changes, including the addition of new goods and services, the reclassification of certain items across different classes, and amendments to the wording of various classifications.
